What should I bring to an oilfield job interview?

Bring a valid photo ID, your driver's license (and CDL if the role requires one), a printed resume even if you already applied online, and documentation for any certification you already hold. Field-role interviews at drilling, completions, or service companies tend to be shorter and more direct than a typical office interview — expect practical questions about your availability for rotational or on-call scheduling, physical readiness, driving record, and willingness to complete a drug screen and background check, more than abstract behavioral questions. Dressing for a work environment (closed-toe shoes, no loose jewelry, nothing you'd be upset to get dirty) reads better than formal business attire for most field-role interviews. If pay comes up, it's reasonable to ask directly — waiting until an offer is extended is fine, but asking earlier isn't a faux pas in this industry the way it can feel in others.
